Level III+ (Level 3+) plates are certified Level III plus tested against additional threats, most importantly 5.56 M855 green tip, the round that many standard Level III plates do not reliably stop. This is the tier most buyers actually want: it covers the common domestic rifle threats including green tip, without the weight and cost of full Level IV. We carry American-made Level III+ plates in ceramic and polyethylene from Hesco and LTC.
Some of our III+ plates go further, adding coverage for rounds like 7.62x54R, .30-06 soft point, and even 7.62x39 API.
