The Hesco Z210 is the lightest stand-alone rifle plate HESCO makes. At roughly 3.4 lb in the SAPI Medium cut and just 0.62 inches thick, it is built for one thing above all else, carrying real rifle protection without feeling like you are wearing armor. For anyone who lives in a plate carrier, that weight savings is the difference between fresh and worn out at the end of the day.
The Z210 is a special threat plate, which means it is tested against a defined list of common rifle rounds rather than carrying an NIJ level rating. Its advanced polyethylene build is multi-shot rated against lead core and mild steel core threats such as 5.56 M193 and M855 and 7.62×39. It is not rated for armor piercing rounds, so if AP protection is a requirement, choose a Level IV plate instead.
Each plate ships as a set of two for front and back coverage, wrapped in a water repellent Cordura finish.
If you want special threat protection at a lower price and can carry a little more weight, look at the Hesco L211 or Hesco U210. If you need certified Level IV protection, the NIJ-certified Hesco 4601 is the lightest certified plate we carry, or the Hesco 4800 for the lightest Level IV overall (NIJ .06 compliant).
Best for: all-day wearers, plainclothes and low-profile use, and anyone who will pay a premium to carry the least possible weight.
