The Hesco 3411MC is the most capable certified Level III+ plate in our HESCO lineup. While most III+ plates stop the common threats, the 3411MC goes further, with a certified threat list that covers 5.56 green tip M855 and M855A1, 7.62x51 M80, 7.62x54R LPS, and even 7.62x39 API armor piercing. That is a remarkable amount of coverage for a non Level IV plate, and it comes at a value price.
Level III+ means the 3411MC defeats lead core, mild steel core, and the specific armor piercing rounds on its tested list, but it does not stop .30-06 M2 AP, which requires a Level IV plate. It is stand alone, so no soft armor backer is required.
The tradeoff for that broad coverage is weight. At about 5.7 lb in the SAPI Medium cut and 1.09 inches thick, it is heavier than our lighter III+ plates, but it is also one of the most affordable ways to get certified protection this comprehensive. Every plate is NIJ 0101.06 certified and ships as a set of two for front and back coverage.
If you want lighter III+ protection and do not need the 7.62x39 API coverage, look at the Hesco 3612 or Hesco 3810. If you need full Level IV protection against .30-06 armor piercing, step up to the certified Hesco 4601 or the lighter, compliant Hesco 4800.
Best for: value minded buyers who want the broadest certified Level III+ threat coverage, including 7.62x39 API, and do not mind extra weight.
