You wear your MBAV carrier for a full shift and every ounce on your shoulders adds up by the end of it. The Phantom NIJ Certified IIIA MBAV Soft Armor Panels are the light option: NIJ 0101.06 Level IIIA certified panels at 0.89 lbs per square foot, cut to the MBAV shape so they slide into your carrier’s soft armor pockets.

MBAV carriers use their own panel shape, which is why BALCS or concealed cut panels never sit right in them. These panels are cut for MBAV only, so they match the pocket your carrier was built around instead of a shape made for a different carrier. Wear them on their own for Level IIIA handgun protection or run them behind your plates as a backer.

At 0.89 lbs per square foot the Phantom weighs about 43% less than our MBAV IIIA Soft Armor Panels at 1.55 and about 29% less than the Wasp NIJ Certified IIIA MBAV Soft Armor Panels at 1.26. Over a long day that is the difference you feel in your shoulders, not just a number on the spec sheet.

The Phantom is NIJ certified, so this model went through the NIJ compliance testing program and is listed by the NIJ, unlike our compliant MBAV IIIA panels.
