Wasp NIJ Certified IIIA MBAV Soft Armor Panels

You run an MBAV carrier and you need soft armor that is on the NIJ certified list, not just built to the standard. The Wasp NIJ Certified IIIA MBAV Soft Armor Panels give you that: Level IIIA panels certified under NIJ 0101.06 and cut to the MBAV shape so they slide into your carrier’s soft armor pockets.

MBAV carriers use their own panel shape, which is why BALCS or concealed cut panels never sit right in them. These panels are cut for MBAV only, so they match the pocket your carrier was built around instead of a shape made for a different carrier. Wear them on their own for Level IIIA handgun protection or run them behind your plates as a backer.

Certified is what you pay for here. It means this model went through the NIJ compliance testing program and is listed by the NIJ. Our MBAV IIIA Soft Armor Panels are tested to the same Level IIIA standard but are not on that list. If your agency or department asks for NIJ listed armor or you just want the paper trail, the Wasp is the step up.

It also takes weight off you. At 1.26 lbs per square foot the Wasp is about 19% lighter than our MBAV IIIA panels at 1.55. If you want to go lighter still, the Phantom NIJ Certified IIIA MBAV Soft Armor Panels come in at 0.89 lbs per square foot. Running a BALCS carrier instead? Use our BALCS IIIA Soft Armor Panels or order Custom IIIA Ballistic Inserts for a carrier with its own shape.
