You cannot treat a wound you cannot see. The first job in almost any trauma call is getting clothing, boots and gear out of the way and doing it fast without cutting the person underneath. That is the whole job of a trauma shear and the NAR Trauma Shears are built to do it right.

The blades are premium-grade stainless steel with precision sharpness and the lower edge is serrated so it grips and cuts through the toughest materials. That lower blade ends in a clothing-lift lip with a rounded tip. The lip slides under fabric and lifts it away from the skin as you cut and the rounded tip leaves no point to jab the patient, so you can work quickly along an arm, a leg or a torso.

The handles are soft-grip, contoured and non-slip to give you control even when your hands are wet. The shears include an O2 wrench and they are autoclave safe to 143°C / 290°F, so they can be sterilized and put back to work. They come in all-over black.

This is the full size 7.25 inch shear at just 2 oz. Add a pair to your IFAK next to your C-A-T tourniquet and wound packing gauze so the tool that gets you to the wound is in the same place as the tools that treat it.
