Buying the carrier is the easy part. Getting it to a configuration you actually want to wear is where people spend the next six months and more money than the carrier cost. You start slick, then find out your cummerbund only comes off over your head, then you need somewhere to carry mags, then you need somewhere to carry everything that is not mags. Three orders later you have a working setup plus a drawer of parts that did not fit.
The Hilo Low Profile Plate Carrier Bundle skips that. It is the same carrier shipped with the quick release cummerbund, the front placard and the shoulder covers already matched to it, so the only decision left is plates.
The carrier underneath stays clean and close to the body. Your plate rides in an internal pocket held separate from the body of the carrier, so it will not drop out or work loose on you. An adjustment strap inside that pocket sets ride height so the top edge sits against your sternum instead of sagging toward your gut and printing through a cover garment. It takes SAPI cuts from Small through X-Large. The Medium also runs 10×12 shooters and swimmers cut. Soft armor backers fit the same size range if you want coverage built up behind the plate. Front and rear plate bags weigh 1.4 lbs together in X-Large, which is the heaviest size we make.
The shoulders use a notched adjustment system with visual reference points built into the straps, so your sizing is repeatable. Set it once over a t-shirt, note where it sits, then come back to that same point after running it over a jacket. A setup tool comes in the box so the hook does not grab and bunch while you slide the strap through.
Where this bundle separates from the base carrier is the Hilo Skeletal Tubes™ Cummerbund. The FirstSpear Tubes™ closure up front means you get out of it fast without dragging it over your head, which is what you want in a vehicle or at the end of a long day. The skeletal cut gives you real mounting space along your sides without the bulk a full MOLLE cummerbund stacks on your flanks, and the included Elastic Tourniquet Holder puts that space to work immediately. It presses on with hook and loop wherever you want it and holds your tourniquet under an elastic loop, so it rides flat and pulls free without opening a pouch first. The cummerbund’s own hook backing runs onto the carrier’s rear loop panel, so nothing about it is proprietary.
Up front you get the RIGlet. It carries three rifle mags with a zippered general purpose pouch built in ahead of them, so your admin and medical items ride in the same footprint as your ammunition instead of needing a second placard. That pouch has internal elastic retention and a full loop field inside for organizing what you put in it. The placard height is adjustable, so you set how far it hangs below the plate rather than living with where it lands. The hook backing presses onto the carrier’s front loop field. Add side buckles later and the RIGlet comes off and runs as a standalone compact chest rig, so the same placard covers two setups.
Then the part most people only think about after the first long day. A loaded carrier puts all of its weight on two inches of webbing. Bare webbing digs in and grabs at your shirt. The included Padded Shoulder Covers add a layer of foam across both straps to spread that load without building the profile back up. They come with a D-Ring on each side, which gives you a high mounting point for a sling or an accessory instead of routing it off the front of your carrier or down to your belt.
Who runs it: anyone who wants one purchase to end in a carrier they can actually use. Plain clothes and low vis work where the carrier lives in a truck or a bag until it is needed, range days and classes where you want mags up front, home defense setups that have to go on fast.

How is this different from the standalone Hilo carrier?
The carrier is the same. The base Hilo Low Profile Plate Carrier ships with the Elastic Cummerbund. This one swaps in the Hilo Skeletal Tubes™ Cummerbund with a FirstSpear Tubes™ closure and adds the RIGlet placard, Padded Shoulder Covers and an Elastic Tourniquet Holder.
Are plates included?
No. The bundle is everything except plates. It takes SAPI cuts from Small through X-Large. The Medium also fits 10x12 shooters and swimmers cut. Soft armor backers fit the same range.
Do I need to buy Tubes separately?
No. A FirstSpear Tubes™ 4" set comes with the Skeletal Tubes Cummerbund.
Can I still run it slick?
Yes. The RIGlet lifts off the front loop field and the QASM buckles are removable, so the front goes completely clean whenever you want it to.
Can the RIGlet be used as a standalone chest rig?
Yes. Two male buckles come with it. You will need to add four female 1" side release buckles to finish the conversion.
