Gloves are the first thing you put on in any medical emergency and they have to last through the whole job: cutting clothing away, packing a wound, working around gear and broken glass. Bear Claw gloves from North American Rescue are built longer and thicker than a standard nitrile glove for exactly that.
They run 11.8 inches long with an extended beaded cuff, so the glove comes well up over your wrist and pulls on quickly. The thickness is put where you need it: 8 mils at the fingers, 6 at the palm and 4.7 at the cuff. The fingertips are textured for grip wet or dry and the fit is close to the hand, so you keep the feel you need for fine work like finding a pulse or threading a tourniquet strap.
They are 100% nitrile and free of the allergens found in latex gloves. They are ambidextrous and sand colored. Each pair is individually wrapped, which is what makes this pack so useful. You are carrying 25 sealed pairs you can split across every kit you own: one in the IFAK, a few in the range bag, a few in each vehicle and the rest in the aid bag. A wrapped pair is only about 2.5 by 1 by 0.8 inches.
