Ops-Core FAST SF Gen II High Cut Ballistic Helmet

Every ounce on your head turns into neck strain over a long night, and it gets worse once you hang NVGs, a battery pack and a counterweight off the shell. The FAST SF Gen II takes 10 to 15 percent off the system weight of the original FAST SF, depending on size, and keeps the same ballistic protection. A size Large shell weighs 1.23 lbs (557 g) and the complete system comes in at 2.09 lbs (949 g).

The weight comes out of three places: a thinner next generation shell, the LockDown Liner and the Head-Loc Flex chinstrap. The LockDown Liner uses pads you place where your head needs them, with moisture wicking fabric over reticulated foam that dries fast and resists microbes. The conformable nape pad and cable Occ-Dial grab a larger area at the back of your head, so the helmet stays planted under the weight of a full NVG setup instead of rocking forward. The cable runs low enough to clear headband style comms headsets.

The Head-Loc Flex chinstrap has a convertible chin cup you can wear under the chin or over it. Run it under the chin day to day and move it over the chin when you mask up. For most users that removes the need for a mask extender with the O2 and CBRN kit.

Up top, the PowerPath ARC rails carry Ops-Core headborne accessories and add a channel behind the rail to route NVG cables out of the way. The lightweight Modular Bungee Shroud cuts down on snag points, and its carabiner clips hold your NVGs steadier without crowding the rail mounted gear next to them. External VELCRO Brand loop gives you a place for strobes, patches and IR markers. If you want a different color or pattern on the shell, the Ops-Core FAST Helmet Cover is cut for FAST helmets and made here in Knoxville.

Manufactured by Ops-Core (Gentex Corporation) in the USA.
