Paper is the first thing to quit in bad weather. A regular notebook turns to pulp in the rain, smears under a sweaty hand and tears the moment it snags on gear. Rite in the Rain built this notebook so the notes you take in the field are still there when you get back.
The all-weather paper sheds rain, sweat, mud, oil and grease instead of soaking it up. Write on it wet or dry with a pencil or a Rite in the Rain all-weather pen and it stays put. The pages carry the Universal pattern, quarter inch lines with a faint dashed grid running the other way, so the same page works for notes, sketches, range cards and scaled drawings. You get 100 pages, 50 sheets, in a 3 by 5 inch sheet. This is the pocket size, small enough to live in a shirt pocket, a pistol mag pouch on your belt or the admin pocket of a chest rig.
The top spiral is an impact resistant, rust resistant Wire-O binding that does not get crushed out of shape in a pack or a pocket and flips open with one hand. It is wrapped in a Polydura cover, a tough flexible shell that keeps scratches and stains off your notes, with imperial and metric rulers, a conversion table and map scales printed on it for quick reference in the field.
Pick the cover color that matches your kit: Black, Tan, Hi-Vis or Tan Flag. The Hi-Vis cover is for the one you need to find fast in a bag or on the ground and the Tan Flag puts the American flag on a tan cover with tan pages inside. At 0.12 lb it disappears into whatever you carry until you need to write something down. Made in the U.S.A.
